Brendan has teamed up with Dan Ilic to write and produce the music for a climate change rap for ABC TV’s wonderful show, Hungry Beast. Its now got a life of its on out there on the web, ruffling feathers on the Huffington Post, Gizmodo, and Crickey among others.

Spinifex Interactive have continued to provide interesting little audio challenges - including recently getting Brendan to work some post audio production magic for a series of interactive displays being installed at the Sydney Theatre Company. Next up is a sound design project for the E3 conference in Las Vegas, opening early June 2011.
Also - some good news. The Dream Cube project (for the World Trade Fair, 2010, Shanghai) that Brendan worked on with Spinifex won gold for best Popup / Brand Pavillion at the Event Design Awards. Big congrats to the gang!

Brendan has written and produced the music for the new Guinness Black Lager commercial. The original commercial (UK region) was created by the Mill for Saatchi and Saatchi. GHO in Sydney were charged with reworking the commercial for the Australian region and market.

Two laps, directed by Owen Trevor is now online for your viewing pleasue. Brendan thoroughly enjoyed working on this little short, both composing the music and creating the sound design and mix. Working with sports agency, the Stadium, Brendan has just completed the sound design and mixes for the 2011 launch packages for all 16 NRL clubs, as well as preview reels and stadium presentation / hype reels used to kick off the season in Australia and New Zealand.

Brendan has just returned from a month in India, and is starting the 2011 working year scoring a new foxtel teen drama - SLiDE. 10 x 1 hour episodes filled to the brim with music means the next few months are going to be very busy.

OneHD’s golf show, ProShop, has had a design refresh for the upcoming summer golf season. As part of that work, Brendan teamed up with the broadcast designers from ZSpace and composed a new theme and underscore for the show. It’s on the air from tonight if you like hitting small balls into tiny holes hundreds of meters away.

Brendan has just completed a short score for a promotional animation for Bombay Safire Gin, produced by the agency, Twelve (London). Here’s hoping they send him a bottle or two.

Working with Garry Stewart of Australian Dance Theatre, and CM films, Brendan has completed the Sound Design and mix for the 30min experimental dance film project, Collision Course. Colision Course explores the relationship of body and time through super slow motion collisions, and features music composed by Sam Drennana. The ABC have commisioned a half hour making of documentary of the project, and 18 x 2 minute interstitials based on the project are currently in production. Details of public outcomes will follow.

The new Range Rover Evoque has just been launched at the Paris Motor Show. Working with director Owen Trevor from Streetlight Films, Brendan has composed the music for the CGI heavy launch film, which was produced by Cricket Limited (London).

Brendan is away from Sydney until October 4, working with the Australian Dance Theatre. He’s reworking the score to reflect recent changes to the work, Be Your Self. The show is being prepared for 3 months of touring through Europe in 2011, starting January in Belgium.

This past weekend has provided Brendan with a pleasant surprise - a Silver Promax award for Composition. The piece awarded was one of the many composed by Brendan (for Plasma Sonic Productions) for the launch of the ABC’s new children’s channel, ABC3. Adding to the loot, Plasma’s sister broadcast design company Tactic also won a Gold Promax for best Drama Campaign, for Spirited (W Channel on Foxtel). This campaign licensed Dead or Alive’s track, You Spin Me, which Brendan arranged, produced and recorded.

Brendan has recently completed composing for the Range Rover - Viewpoints launch film, directed by Owen Trevor from Streetlight Films. The film was first shown at the vehicle launch at the Moscow Motor Show, September 2010

The National Basketball League has relaunched in Australia, and Brendan has composed the music for the new NBL show, One Basket, on OneHD, from October 15. Produced by Sydney Creative Studio, ZSpace, the titles sequence was directed by Zspace CD, Jean-Christophe Danoy.

Working with Spinifex Interactive, Brendan has recently completed the sound design, background music & surround mix for the EA Sports booth at the E3 Conference in Los Angeles, held June 15-17 2010. Brendan sculptured his sound around the animation and design work created by Spinifex Interactive, & produced for GPJ in Los Angeles. The AV presentation also featured a kicking track composed for the occasion by JunkieXL.

Brendan has finally come up to breathe after spending large chunks of the last 12 months as sound designer, composer and installation mixer for the Shanghai Corporate Pavillion at the World 2010 Expo in Shanghai. Brendan had the pleasure of working closely with primary composer Kyls Burtland, as well as sydney event specialists Spinifex Interactive, and ESI Design (New York). Last night Brendan attended the Australian 2010 So You Think You Can Dance Finale at Carriage Works. The ADT performed a short piece based on a snippet of the dance project, Be Your Self, which Brendan composed the score for. Nice to see this fairly progressive work making it onto the TV's of 2 million viewers. Check out the here.

Brendan has begun working on a solo album of ambient electro acoustic music under his moniker, colony nofi. Over the next few months you should see some of these tracks pop up on this site and on his soundcloud page. More news will follow.
